As the Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for investigating, understanding, describing, and documenting requirements, while utilizing knowledge base to evaluate data sets to help expand capabilities / tools leveraged by Optum Care Payment Integrity. In addition, refine and clarify information needs, define information delivery methods. Responsibilities include the evaluation/interpretation of business needs, providing support and assistance to project manager, payment integrity program leads, as well as end users. This position is also responsible for ensuring daily efforts align with the goals of the department and broader organization, while identifying enhancements or improvements, providing impact analysis, and coordinating with others.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, review, forecast and trend complex data
  • Present analysis and recommendations for operational and business review/planning
  • Develop/update requirements for enhancements
  • Support short- and long-term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
  • Identify, research, develop, and size, new payment integrity opportunities
  • Develop, recommend and implement business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
  • Develop and conduct market PI focused presentations across a wide variety of stake holders
  • Work across Optum Care entities to develop and implement effective/strategic payment integrity solutions through research and analysis of data
  • Provide effective challenge to existing methodologies, policies and procedures
  • Participate in the management of change follow up on changes that are created
  • Assist in documentation and updates of policies and procedures
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of SOP's and process flows

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis
  • 3+ years of experience with new market/product/vendor implementations
  • Experience with payment integrity methodologies, programs, and products
  • Solid consulting and influencing skills; proven results; ability to identify root causes and drive solutions
  • Advanced user experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, SharePoint, and project management tools such as Smartsheet
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a large, matrix environment as well as senior leadership and other department directors/managers to define business process issues, analyze operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions, and measure delivery of services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of concepts and practices of Lean and Six Sigma
  • Experience with pre pay and post pay payment integrity
  • Advanced conceptual skills; able to synthesize information quickly; understands various business areas and functions; and able to present material in an organized and clear manner.
  • OptumCare/Optum Health expertise
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with ability to balance multiple priorities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
