This position is a member of our Houston Region Office.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with air quality issues.
  • Experience evaluating rules/policies/procedures and/or making compliance determinations or recommendations regarding environmental regulations.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Plan and conduct highly advanced or specialized investigation; prepare reports to document field activities and observed conditions. Assist with collecting and analyzing environmental samples.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and quality assurance review for environmental investigators.
  • Provide highly complex technical assistance and information to the public, regulated community, and other interested groups regarding the application of appropriate regulations. Perform other technical assistance activities, including coordinating and/or participating in the collection of records, technical data, research or analysis as a result of public information requests. Participate on committees and during public meetings, seminars, or workshops as required.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required; plus, six years of full-time experience in environmental activities.

OR

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus five years of the required experience.

OR

A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus four years of the required experience.

OR

Ten years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities.

OR

Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as an Environmental Investigator IV

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Environmental Investigator V series.
