KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience overseeing a program or project.
  • Experience managing a team or work group.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Perform personnel management functions including hiring and training new employees, establishing annual performance goals for employees, conducting employee performance evaluations, coordinating professional development opportunities for employees, and the creation of workforce development plans to support the continuity of operations in AGD.
  • Manage operations of the Federal Grants Section including the development of solicitation and related grant documents, assignment and review of grant applications, preparation and execution of grant contracts, review and approval of grantee payment requests, and monitoring grantee performance. Oversee the development and implementation of guidelines, procedures, and policies for the section and monitors compliance with established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Establish goals for the Federal Grants Section to ensure that AGD is successful in meeting its statutory objectives. Continually works to identify and mitigate potential roadblocks to achieving goals. Provide regular or ad-hoc reports to management that include performance metrics and progress towards achieving goals.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.

OR

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Manager VI state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Manager VI series.
