Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Assistant Coordinating Manager is assigned to the Admitting/Emergency Departments, perform all duties related to the supervision of clerical staffs, ensuring optimization of flow for patients and clinic operations, and preparing statistical reports.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervises the activities of Clericals IIs and IIIs in their work assignments.
- Interprets departmental, city, state, and federal rules and regulations for the staff.
- Ensures activities performed by clericals are in compliance with departmental procedures.
- Ensures clerical staff have the supplies and system access needed to perform job function.
- Plans and coordinates clerical staff's schedules and assignments.
- Ensures adequate coverage throughout the clinical area.
- Assists with and/or performs clerical activities as needed.
- Responds to any inquiries with patients and the clinical department.
- Escalates any unresolvable issues to Management for prompt resolution.
- Supervises and conducts training programs. Offers instructions and direction to employees.
- Oversees staff performance (through the Performance Appraisal process) for accuracy, completeness, and meeting performance standards.
- Assists with the development and implementation of any new procedures.
- Performs all other tasks as assigned by Supervisor or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Community Health, Psychology or related discipline with one year of full-time experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity in business management systems, general administration, health care and medical/patient systems administration; or,
2. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
