Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Responsible for all administrative task within the office of the Director of Mental Health.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the review, and submission of patient legal documents to the Lawyers ensuring accuracy
• Reports data to Department of Health-NICS of any involuntary admissions to the inpatient unit.
• Communicates in collaboration with Nursing, Administration and the Mental Hygiene Legal Services
• Monitors the environment of the Administrative office and the courtroom
• Prepares Power Point Presentations
• Schedules meetings in person and via Webex
• Participates in meetings, records and types meeting minutes
• Assist in gathering Pl data
• Evaluates workflow processes and assists in developing methods to improve efficiently and work flow
• Ensures contingency plans are initiated during emergencies such as IT and power outages
• Collects, analyzes, and shares metrics with leadership and team
• Monitors compliance as per OMH, JC, and CMS standards
• Follows up on findings related to OMH, JC, CMS
• Provides HIPPA compliant patient appointment information with agencies and other sites as required
• Leads an effective team consisting of clinical, Administrative & Support staff
• Completes renewal applications as needed
• Completes and shares surveys
• Monitors equipment & and environments, submits, tracks work orders
• Assist with Performance Improvement & Quality Assurance reports and data collection
• Works in the front desk as required
• Reviews financial and scheduling work queues ensuring timely completion
• Requisitions equipment and supplies as needed
• May assist in other units within Behavioral Health if needed

Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling, and three years of full-time experience in medicallyoriented health care and medical support systems environment, two years of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician or three years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
2. A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in the disciplines listed in (1), and two years of full-time experience as listed in (1), plus one year experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations as listed in (1); or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
