Job Description

Position Summary:

A member of the revenue cycle process, the Denial Coordinator is responsible for conducting in-depth Account Receivable analysis on denied receivables in an effort to maximize revenue, trend denials and address payment variances. The candidate must exhibit knowledge of policies and procedures related to claims processing. The Denial Coordinator will be versed in all denials and should be able to assist team members with questions and best practices for denial resolution.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Reviews all denied accounts for categorization, anticipate level of review and create standard processes for denial follow up
  • Establishes standard workflow for denial follow up according to the claim adjustment reason and remark codes
  • Utilizes EPIC reporting tools to compile data for review individually and with Finance Leadership
  • Provides analytical driven feedback to recommend and or establish process changes
  • Ensures timely and accurate follow-up of denied claims
  • Leads denials projects as assigned by management
  • Tracks denial review outcomes leading to reimbursement


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Community Health, Psychology or related discipline with one year of full-time experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity in business management systems, general administration, health care and medical/patient systems administration; or,
2. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
