Federal Work Study - Student Assistant (College of Education)

Job Description:

The student assistant will assist the School of Teaching and Learning faculty and staff with tasks including but not limited to: greeting office visitors; picking up the mail from our mailroom; monitoring all copier/printers to refill paper as needed, and keep storage facilities in order; creating and/or editing instructional and marketing materials; faxing, copying, scanning, and filing; assisting with setup/cleanup of department events; and other general office tasks.

Expected Salary:

$12.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

This is a Federal Work Study position with an anticipated Fall 2024 start date. Students must bring a copy of their work study award page prior to start date. Students must be able to work 15 - 20 hours per week; Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position is likely to continue for the Spring 2025 semester. Summer is optional.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants should be detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants must demonstrate professional etiquette in person and on the phone. Punctuality is essential. Applicants should have experience with MS Office programs and be familiar with various web browsers and database applications. Applicants should have experience, skill and interest in creating visually appealing digital materials such as presentations, flyers and social media posts.
