Scripps Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our comprehensive security operations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Safety and Security, this role is pivotal to enhancing the safety and security of our facilities, patients, employees, and visitors through effective management of security systems and practices. The Manager, Support Operations is responsible for overseeing operation in engineering, parking and/or security. Accountable for ensuring facilities are safe and secure. Communicates with and/or respond needs of patients, families and staff. Performs quality control review and implements process improvement initiatives. Ensures staff are trained and maintains staff competencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Security Systems Management : Oversee the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of all security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access control, and physical security infrastructure.
  • Technology Integration : Lead the integration of advanced security technologies, such as artificial intelligence software for threat detection and alerting systems, to improve overall security measures.
  • Project Management : Manage security projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and effective implementation of security enhancements and system upgrades.
  • Visitor and Access Management : Supervise and improve the visitor registration and management systems to ensure secure and efficient access control.
  • Network Security : Collaborate with IT to propose secure network solutions for surveillance cameras, video recorders, AI-driven threat detection software, and access controls.
  • Mobile Security Force : Implement and oversee a mobile security force to provide flexible and responsive security coverage across all facilities.
  • Support and Leadership : Provide support and leadership to hospital security managers, assisting with operations and stepping in as needed to maintain consistent security practices.
  • Stakeholder Communication : Interface and communicate effectively with senior leadership, including hospital executive management, C-suite executives, and stakeholders such as Legal and Compliance departments, to ensure alignment and integration of security strategies.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • 5 years leadership experience within facility support services and/or security.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with networked security systems, and an interest in physical and cyber security is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security systems, including surveillance, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage security projects from start to finish, ensuring successful implementation and integration of new technologies.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
