What You'll Do:
  • Coordinate and manage the Office of Financial Affairs (OFA) Grants Services Unit (GSU)
  • S upervise assigned managers and other employees in the GSU
  • Oversee the planning, managing, financial reporting, and monitoring of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) federal/state grants as well as the disbursing of funding to subrecipients for the agency
  • Review operations to ensure no misappropriation or miscoding of funds to all sources of departmental funds
  • Review and analyze problems identified in units of OFA (accounting unit, budget unit, procurement unit)
  • Ensure standards are in accordance with federal and state rules and regulations
  • Direct review of all funding applications made by ODH to the federal government for accuracy
  • Direct completion of Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) reporting
  • Represent ODH with internal and external stakeholders ; Formulate and implement policies and procedures
  • Act as liaison for the Financial Reporting Team and OFA with various sources (Federal Agencies, Office of Budget Management, Department of Administrative Services) concerning the department's federal awards, and related fiscal activities
Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 15, Step 1 of the exempt Pay Range Schedule ($41.23 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($43.55 per hour) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Qualifications

66 months experience or training in financial administration.

-Or

Completion of undergraduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field AND 42 months experience or training in financial administration.

-Or

Completion of graduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field AND 30 months experience or training in financial administration.

-Or

12 months experience as Financial Program Manager, 66585.

-Or e quivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
