NMPSIA was created by the NM Legislature in 1986 to serve as a purchasing agency for public school districts, post-secondary educational entities and charter Schools. Through NMPSIA, member schools are afforded the opportunity to offer quality employee benefit and risk coverages. NMPSIA currently provides benefit and risk coverage to all public school districts except Albuquerque Public Schools, all charter schools, and other educational entities.
Why does the job exist?
Coordinate and evaluate the Risk Program administered and managed by the New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority (NMPSIA). This position plans and develops procedures for services and outcomes to support the Agency's Risk Program. The position monitors data, investigates trends, creates reports summarizing analytical data, and collects and analyzes data to evaluate program effectiveness. The position will prepare RFP's and act as a technical assistant/advisor for RFP's, analyze vendor contracts for compliance, and provide recommendations to include research on rule-making. This position develops and reviews training/educational material, brochures, and related program marketing for varied audiences, including audio, digital, and visual technology, and organizes, coordinates, and conducts training, presentations, and webinars. The position will recommend policy and procedure changes, update operating manuals to improve program outcomes and serve as the Authority's IPRA custodian.

Plans and develops procedures for services and outcomes to support the Agency's Risk Program.
Monitors data, investigates trends, and creates reports that will summarize analytical data.
Collects and analyzes data to evaluate program effectiveness.
Supports the Agency's research on rule-making, contracts, requests for proposals and modes for communication.
Prepares RFPs and acts as a technical assistant/advisor for RFPs and provides recommendations.
Analyzes vendor contracts for compliance.
Organizes and coordinates meetings to promote and improve program success.
Develops and reviews training/educational material, brochures, and related program marketing for varied audiences to include audio, digital and visual technology.
Organizes and establishes regular meetings with designated groups to promote positive relationships and program success.
Coordinates and conducts trainings, presentations, webinars.
Recommends policy and procedure changes and updates operating manuals to improve program outcomes.
Provides support to the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and program participants.
Serve as the Authority's IPRA custodian.

The position serves over 44,000 employees, 325,000 students, 44,000 students participating in athletics, 9,000 volunteers, 9,300 vehicles and buses for the Agency's 88 school districts, 101 charter schools, 27 other entities, contracted carriers, partnering organizations and the community.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Substitutions apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Maintaining a drivers license and a defensive driving certificate is required.
Working Conditions
Work is usually performed in an office setting with extensive exposure to visual/video display, computer and phone usage. Sitting, standing, bending and reaching are part of the work day. Travel is required. Extended hours and weekends may be required.
