This position is a member of our Central Texas Division.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Qualifications:
KEY QUALFIICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus five years of full-time experience providing administrative support in an office setting.
Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience with a maximum substitution of four years.
OR
Two years as an Administrative Assistant IV at TCEQ.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Administrative Assistant V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Administrative Assistant V series.

YOUR FUTURE TEAM
As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws.
This position is a member of our Central Texas Division.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Track programmatic information, and produce spreadsheets; draft, edit, and prepare special reports, correspondence and publications; reviews administrative processes to determine most effective use of resources; develops administrative procedures; manages region's air program files in filing system.
- Communicate with agency staff, management and the public regarding guidance, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to program area.
- Assist with personnel issues, travel, telecommunications, correspondence, purchasing, inventory, receptionist, cashier activities, and monitoring administrative issues.
- Assist staff with compiling information, reviewing and tracking data, preparing reports, and preparing letters.
- Coordinate the administrative work between programs; may train others on administrative issues.
- Serve as the primary contact for coordinating requirements relating to program records maintained in the Central File Rooms. Work closely with the Records Administrator to ensure agency records management policies and procedures are followed in the division to include records retention, storage, access, and destruction.
Qualifications:
KEY QUALFIICATIONS
- Experience filing documents and/or maintaining file systems
- Experience preparing and/or proofreading correspondence, forms, spreadsheets, manuals, and/or reports
