YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws.

This position is a member of our Coastal & East Texas division.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Perform and/or oversee highly advanced or specialized technical work in the field of emergency response; direct and/or respond to complex spill and emergency response incidents, conduct investigations, prepare spill and technical reports, make recommendations for restoration of affected environments, and conduct follow-up investigations.
• Oversee programs and activities in the planning and execution of environmental projects
• Advise and provide highly complex technical assistance to the public, the regulated community, and other interested groups. Participate in preparing emergency response procedures, and plan meetings and/or drills
• Serve as a mentor or trainer to other environmental investigators.

Qualifications:

KEY QUALFIICATIONS

• Experience working with emergency response issues such as spills and/or natural disasters.
• Experience evaluating rules/policies/procedures and/or making compliance determinations or recommendations regarding environmental regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required; plus, six years of full-time experience in environmental activities.

OR

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus five years of the required experience.

OR

A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus four years of the required experience.

OR

Ten years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities.

OR

Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as an Environmental Investigator IV.
