This position is a member of our Air Quality Division.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience planning, coordinating, or overseeing projects and/or activities related to air quality
  • Experience with grant management.
  • Experience reviewing draft contracts or work plans.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Serve as lead for the Rider 7 grant program. Coordinate program activities for the division and agency-wide, to include review/approvals, and data analysis and gathering.
  • Provide administrative or technical support to the Rider 7, including managing grants for eligible areas, reviewing draft contracts, work plans, grant recipient reports, and providing administrative or technical support to the Rider 7 program recipients.
  • Ensure quarterly financial status reports are completed and accurate. Communicate the status of and provide presentations on grant program activities to division or executive management, agency staff, other state/federal agencies, environmental organizations, and the general public on grant program activities.
  • Coordinate support on the division's information technology/resource needs. Serve as the division's primary contact on the coordination, development, and evaluation of division responses to customer inquiries and media requests. Assist other division or office staff with grant or contract management as needed.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus four years of fulltime experience in planning, research, program analysis, or program management.*
  • A graduate degree in planning, economics, business or public administration, political science, policy analysis, or environmental management, environmental science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of experience.


* Program management is work where primary duties consist of planning, organizing, administering, and coordinating and/or overseeing projects related to a program of an organization.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Planner V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Planner V series.
