Qualifications:

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with analyzing the engineering design, maintenance, administration, and operations of public drinking water systems.
  • Experience working with public water system programs.
  • Experience preparing, writing, editing, and reviewing reports, correspondence and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Review and evaluate engineering data for new or modified public water systems to ensure compliance with applicable regulations for the Water Supply Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
  • Conduct, plan, and coordinate in office and/or on-site engineering and technical reviews, analyses, quality control and evaluations on routine to complex level information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; and follow up with appropriate actions with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
  • Provide information and engineering assistance concerning requests and submittals from public water systems to internal and external customers through verbal and written communication, email, correspondence, meetings, and presentations.
  • Deliver customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency's drinking water program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs).
  • Provide and participate in training, mentoring, and program expertise. Plan and/or participate in special projects.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, plus two years of full-time engineering experience.


An Engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) certificate will substitute for six months of the required experience.

A master's degree in engineering, environmental science, or related fields from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience.

A doctorate in engineering, environmental science, or related fields from an accredited college or university may substitute for two years of the required experience.
