As part of TCEQ's Office of Water, you would contribute to ensuring clean and available water and protecting Texas' water resources.

Qualifications:

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing, summarizing, validating, or quality assuring water quality data in a relational database.
  • Experience using Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) or other statistical software.
  • Experience developing databases or other applications to track, review, and/or summarize data.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Experience developing databases or other applications to track, review, and/or summarize data.
  • Assist with integrating, verifying, and validating water pollutant data from monitoring stations throughout Texas. Process monitoring station information. Serve as a front-end database administrator to process metadata, test system changes, and support maintenance activities. Communicate clearly about relational database and technical terminology.
  • Review and summarize basic water quality data. Review plans for monitoring data collection. Query data from information systems for internal and external customers.
  • Develop databases, web pages, and/or applications to track, review, and summarize water quality monitoring and data management information. Develop manuals and software-assisted data management and validation procedures and tools, database development tools, and data display techniques.
  • Coordinate with TCEQ management and staff, other agencies, and the public to convey information on matters related to water quality.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.


One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
