This position is a member of our Occupational Licensing and Registration Division.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, environmental/natural sciences.
  • Experience with technical training, presentations, or curriculum.
  • Experience in the environmental field.
  • Experience providing customer service.
  • Experience with project management.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Provide highly advanced technical advice, manage section projects, review and approve educational and training courses for the Occupational Licensing Program of the Occupational Licensing and Registration Division of the TCEQ.
  • Provide advanced technical assistance to the general public, the regulated community, governmental officials, and agency staff for the Occupational Licensing Section, Training Team. Provide senior project management, direction, and facilitation with customers regarding curriculum guidance revisions, job task analysis and occupational licensing exam revisions; coordinate other technical team projects and provide training for staff.
  • Research and prepare industry-specific materials on curriculum guidance, job task analysis and exam revisions.
  • Review and approve advanced a training methods, designs, objectives, and curriculum of environmental licensing programs. Perform advanced reviews of complex technical content and ensures compliance with agency program rules and or guidelines. Conduct electronic or in person audits of approved training to determine compliance with agency rules and guidance documents.
  • Oversee the development, evaluation, and revision of complex examinations, regulatory guidance documents, program policies, and rules regarding licensing of environmental occupations. Coordinate and oversee the tracking of training requests in a database, ensuring data is accurate, timely, and conforms with approved agency data standards and prepares program reports.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field, plus six years of full-time experience in environmental activities. One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.

OR

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, or related fields plus five years of the required experience.

OR

A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science, environmental science, or related fields plus four years of the required experience.

OR

Two years of full-time experience as a Natural Resources Specialist IV at the TCEQ.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Natural Resource Specialist V series.
