Qualifications:

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience interpreting and/or implementing rules, regulations, policies or procedures.
  • Experience ensuring or overseeing compliance of a regulated entity with state or federal requirements


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Conduct in office and/or on-site technical review, analyses, quality control and evaluations on routine to moderately complex information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedure; and follow up with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Utilize data by following established business processes, maintain quality control and provide information related to drinking water quality and public water systems.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency's drinking water quality program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to the Public Information Requests (PIRs).
  • Participate in special projects such as serving as an owner of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working on Section/Division business process improvement projects.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.


One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist II state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Natural Resources Specialist II series.
