Why does the job exist?

The Business Operations Specialist Advanced will:
  • Perform standardized office work procedures focusing on public agency policies and procedures, state and federal laws, rules and regulations and administrative duties.


How does it get done?

The Business Operations Specialist Advanced is responsible for:
  • Providing office management functions that involve a high level of complexity and problem solving for the Medicaid program;
  • Working with agency management, state and federal officials, other organizations, constituents and will assist Medicaid providers and clients as needed;
  • Assisting with SHARE financial for fiscal functions;
  • Providing direct contact with facilities to resolve building issues, ordering supplies, tracking inventory and assets, and assisting with various Director's Office (DO) projects, as needed;
  • Other duties including Constituent Concerns and MAD Info Box Escalation and Tracking, Building Issues Tracking and escalation, conference room scheduling, and processing mail and faxes.

Medical Assistance Division (MAD) staff, managers, Medicaid recipients and vendors.

  • Experience providing administrative support for a large group of individuals;

  • Experience preparing purchase documents and paying invoices.


Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
