Why does the job exist?

The Staff Manager / Manager Reporting Bureau Chief will:
  • Direct oversight of The Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Federal Work Participation;
  • Oversee TANF data reporting processes;
  • Monitor the NM Works program staff.


How does it get done?

The Staff Manager / Manager Reporting Bureau Chief is responsible for:
  • Compiling and transmitting the Dis-aggregate report on a monthly basis and compiling other reports pertaining to TANF and TANF work participation;
  • Planning, developing, and the submission of the Work Verification Plan which must adhere to all federal and state requirements;
  • Directly supervising the TANF Program Manager that oversees the NM Works and Vocational Training program contracts;
  • Supporting and providing direct supervision of staff members within the unit while providing effective leadership, problem resolution and training to staff members;
  • Ensuring that the Bureau Chief is kept up to date on tasks and issues;
  • Reviewing and reconciling childcare data received from the Early Childcare Education and Care Department (ECECD).

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate has experience:
  • Previously working with the Dis-aggregate report;
  • Working with TANF participants to include compliance with the Work Verification Plan components;
  • Utilizing knowledge on contracts, procurement, SHARE Financials, and Bonfire;
  • With the Maintenance of Effort (ACF-202) and OLDC reporting;
  • Utilizing the Automated System Program and Eligibility Network (ASPEN) and WorkPath.


Minimum Qualification

A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below. A hiring agency will designate that a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and telephone usage. Some travel may be required.
