TELEWORK

Staff who work in the Austin Metro will work in-office for one day, every other week, for a collaboration day as well as on an as-needed basis.

As part of TCEQ's Office of Air, you would contribute to protecting and restoring Texas' air quality.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience conducting environmental activities related to air.
  • Experience working in a field related to oil and gas production.
  • Experience or skill at analyzing emissions test data and calculations.
  • Experience interpreting environmental rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
  • Experience communicating with customers (i.e., preparing written reports, making technical presentations, and/or providing workshops.)


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of the Texas Voluntary Marginal Conventional Well (TXMCW) Program including the development of program policies and technical requirements, project application/workbooks, technical supplements, and emissions reduction calculators.
  • Conduct advanced technical review of project applications and approves engineering and construction designs, plans, specifications, and estimates. Monitors grantee performance and compliance with grant requirements, evaluates deliverables, and reviews billing documentation for reasonableness of costs. May conduct field visits, surveys, and inspections.
  • Provide advanced technical advice and counsel to management and section staff regarding the eligibility of project applications, analysis of key project deliverables, and/or issues of non-compliance with project requirements. Develop and maintain technical guidance and provide training for section staff.
  • Meet with project representatives, engineers, contractors, interest groups concerning program policies, requirements, and processes. Represent the section, division and agency at public workshops and webinars. Prepare presentations detailing high-level program requirements and accomplishments and presents to external stakeholders.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Texas Professional Engineer's license plus three years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure.


Qualifying work experience includes that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.

Career Ladder Progression

  • One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer III.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Engineer IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Engineer IV series.
