This position offers an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum 2-day work in the Austin office.
YOUR FUTURE TEAM
As part of the Commissioners' Office, you would support the commissioners as they establish overall agency direction and policy and make their final determinations on contested permitting and enforcement matters.
This position works directly in the Office of the Chief Clerk (OCC).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may be substituted for each six months of the required experience. Transcripts/College Hours or Course Work: See instructions on how to attach documents. A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the minimum qualification requirements outlined above.

Qualifications:
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience accessing the Commissioner's Integrated Database and/or Central Registry.
- Experience reviewing documents for accuracy and compliance with statutes, regulations, and policies.
- Experience communicating procedural, regulatory, or technical requirements with internal and external customers.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
- Review, track and monitor permit notices and various other data for the Office of the Chief Clerk (OCC) of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
- Evaluate permit notices and supporting documents; ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal regulations, policies, and guidelines; correspond with applicants regarding notice deficiencies in accordance with rule applicability; identify completed notices within time frames established in federal and state regulations; provide rule and policy interpretations for applicants, their representatives, and the general public.
- Verify customer and regulated entity information in Central Registry and Commissioner's Integrated Database, resolve discrepancies with staff and applicants, and submit corrections or updates as needed. Test databases or processes for functionality prior to implementation.
- Maintain the Commissioner's Integrated Database to include updating the status of pending permit notices and generating reports.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus five years of full-time experience performing administrative and/or technical support activities.
