TELEWORK

Staff who work in the Austin Metro will work in-office for one day, every other week, for a collaboration day as well as on an as-needed basis.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing grants or contracts.
  • Experience in coordinating, planning, and tracking deadlines.
  • Experience working with governmental entities, industry representatives, or private companies to obtain technical information and/or provide technical assistance.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing grant or contract documents.
  • Experience using Excel and/or database software.
  • Experience in collecting, organizing, and reviewing data.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Conduct highly advanced thorough application reviews under the Texas Voluntary Marginal Conventional Well (TXMCW) program to verify eligibility with program requirements and alignment with program goals and objectives. Utilize provided checklists and guidance to document and complete application review.
  • Lead activities related to the implementation of the TXMCW program, including the development of solicitation documents and application receipt, review, scoring, and selection. Works with section management to establish timelines for implementing programs and goals for completing application review and ensure they are met.
  • Provide training and guidance to application review staff related to application review policies, procedure, and internal management directives.
  • Develop and maintain application review guidance documents and checklists. Assist the Team Leader in monitoring compliance with application review policies, procedures, and guidance.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus three years of full time experience in developing, implementing, coordinating, administering, monitoring, and/or planning grant programs.


One year of full-time experience related to examples of work performed may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education

OR

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus five years of full-time experience performing supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work which must include: analysis of work problems having an administrative aspect and interpretation of complex written material; or planning, organizing, and coordinating requirements for support services or program operations where a wide range of demands are involved, including interpretation of complex written material.


OR

  • A graduate degree in public administration, business administration, environmental resource management, planning, or in an area relevant to the position from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Grant Specialist IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Grant Specialist IV series.
