YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ's Office of Waste, you would contribute to agency efforts to regulate the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of various wastes and the cleanup of contaminated sites. See details about what we do.

This position is a member of our Remediation Division.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Manage and oversee the staff and the resources of the Superfund Section of the Remediation Division of the TCEQ.
  • Participate and/or assist with performing human resource management functions to include; hiring, staff development, and performance management functions; mentor and assist staff to assure work objectives are accomplished, and to assure individual development.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of program staff; schedule, organize, and monitor the progress of program workplan elements.
  • Prepare, administer and track the section budget and assigned grants; assure deadlines are met, expenditures are appropriate, and all funds are expended; prepare and produce Legislative Performance Measures quarterly reports, Legislative Appropriation Requests, Exceptional Item Requests, and grant workplans.
  • Participate and/or oversee staff participation in the legislative process; provide legislative bill analysis/coordination and participates in hearings and/or public meetings.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.

OR

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Manager VI state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Manager VI series.
