Why does the job exist?

The Crisis Team Program Coordinator is responsible for:
  • Coordinating program initiatives and establishing protocols for their implementation;
  • Fostering positive relationships and collaboration with program partners;
  • Providing comprehensive support to specialized behavioral health service providers in various aspects;
  • Working closely with staff managers to ensure that the crisis response system providers receive the necessary support to carry out their responsibilities effectively;
  • Providing ongoing technical assistance to crisis response providers;
  • Handling multiple simultaneous priorities and monitoring workflow in a decisive, organized and professional manner.


How does it get done?

The Crisis Team Program Coordinator is responsible for:
  • Ensuring programs are executed efficiently and in accordance with established guidelines;
  • Leading crisis response learning community meetings;
  • Overseeing project budgets, contracts, operations and staff;
  • Representing NMBHSD at the NM Behavioral Health Collaborative and travel between project sites as needed.

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate possess the following:
  • Project management, to include building agendas, task lists and spreadsheets;
  • Organized and strong focus on customer service and providing technical assistance;
  • Behavioral health knowledge and experience.


Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting: late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation. Incumbent may be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments.
